Just a simple comment. I do believe you werr misinformed. The Catholuc Church does encourage their people to rwad the Bible. I have read it on my oqn and also attended bible studies. The Catholic church believes that Scripture and Tradition are necessary for us to receive the full word of God. But that does not mean the Catholic church does not encourage the reading of the Bible, because that is one of the two pillars on which our faith rests!
