Holiday mode basically freezes your game where it is when you invoke your holiday. No food is consumed when you are in holiday mode, and no resources are produced, so everything should be exactly the same as you left it when you get back. Holiday mode is also similar to truce mode, except it lasts as long as you set it or have coins for it instead of running out in 12 hours, so no one can attack your cities while you are in Holiday mode.

In order to use holiday mode, you cannot have any research, construction or troop training going on in ANY of your cities. You would have to either wait until they are all done to use it, or cancel any you have working before using it.

All your troops must be in their own barracks as well none in valleys or reinforcing anyone else. To use it, first you need to have the coins in your account or buy some if you don't have them now. Then click on your picture and click the little arrow for the status bar. Click on Holiday. It will tell you the cost, that it's a minimum of two days, and ask for your password to confirm. You can set the number of days if you know when you'll be back, or just leave it at the default amount and it will continue from there until you try to log in again or run out of money - whichever comes first.

When you return, just log in to the game. It will tell you you're in holiday mode and ask if you want to cancel that. Say yes and you're back. How do you think Evony pays for the servers you all keep demanding be opened up? When you complain that customer service is too slow, does it occur to you that if we "donated" more, they might be able to afford to hire more staff? You never have to pay for anything, but the option is there if you want to take advantage of it.
